Pipeline Equipment Operator

Pipeline Equipment Operator Job Status:

  • Full Time
  • Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, stand, climb and lift up to 70 lbs. for extended periods of time and perform numerous task that require physical agility and manual dexterity as well as mental acuity throughout shift.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Underground Utility construction and installation.
  • Working knowledge of Pipeline safety requirements, applicable standards, rules and regulations, and pass a proficiency exam to demonstrate retention.
  • Working knowledge of 811 National Call before you dig (1 call) principles and requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of excavation hazards and concerns. (Overhead lines, adjacent structures, etc.)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of load securing practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in proper excavation practices: Bell holes, walkouts, sloping and benching.
  • Demonstrate the ability to expose and excavate underground utilities according to industry standards, best practices and applicable rules, regulations and OSHA 1926 1926 sub part P Standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Material Handling best practices, according to applicable OSHA Standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in equipment start up, operating equipment, and successfully complete selected required Operator Qualifications (OQ’s)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in daily equipment inspection, cleaning and basic maintenance performance.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in loading, unloading and securing equipment for transport.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in completing job related paperwork as outlined in company policy and procedure manual, in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in adhering to Federal, State, and Local and all company Health, Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.
Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to work long hours, outdoors, in all types of weather conditions
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times in the execution of duties.
  • Maintain acceptable personal hygiene and professional appearance, clean shaven daily.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Must have own housing.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Required to attend all safety meetings unless approved otherwise by Manager.
  • Must be able to work weekends when required.
  • Report to work as scheduled.
  • Maintain professional demeanor in all dealings with clients, supervisors and employees.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned in a timely manner, following all applicable company rules, regulations and policies, as well as Federal, State and local laws.
Work Environment: The employee can be exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme heat or cold while performing duties of this job. Occasionally, employee will be exposed to wet and humid conditions and hazards environments such road intersections, fast movement of heavy equipment and vehicles, moving mechanical parts, and dusty, poor visible conditions.
